He contacted me a month later on a message forum after recognizing my face and arranged for a happier meeting. Several months later, we had our first date in the Target Center for another wrestling event, and the night would have been perfect if I hadn't been knocked over by a cameraman.

Judging by the look on her face, she did not understand what I said.

She sat with her mouth open. I was not sure where surprise ended and effect began.
"You can't just do this you know. I can't believe you're doing this. Fuck, I can't believe you're doing this."

I held my position. Arms crossed, I would not relent.

"Believe it, I am doing it. You do not love yourself and you do not love me. We've been through this before and I don't understand how you can convince yourself that you're surprised. I'm not even sure that you're not lying right now. Are you?"

This brought pangs of shock to her. I instantly knew I had made a mistake.

"You're going to fucking ask me if I'm lying about being hurt right now? How could you be so cold?"

I was not sure if I was being cold or if she was being manipulative. Was I being cold in reaction to her manipulation? Was she manipulative or just desperate?
